Geometric Portraits

Facial expressions are universal. There are 6 known facial expressions, disgust, sadness, happiness, fear, anger, and surprise. Facial expressions are led to emotions. These 6 expressions are usually easy to identify from people because they are likely used in everyday life. There are many articles confirm that there are 6 basic facial expressions. They may look different based on ethnicity but they express and idea of their emotions.

I created this project by first taking a photo that is as symmetrical as possible. When I took the photo and uploaded it to photo shop I then placed a grid and centred it evenly. Then I outlined half of my face and started to fill in my hair with triangles. After I did that I filled my face in with triangles. Then I outlined the triangles with the polygonal marquee tool used it to make the triangles one color.

The easy way and custom way are very different but they have some things alike. For example they both are made of triangles. With the easy way the colors are replaced with triangles and same with the custom way. But whats different is that the custom way shows more defiance between facials and the background. They are also different because the custom way we do the triangles one by one and in our poly 2 we put filters and changed up our colors more. In the easy way the computer does it itself and there are no filters and the image turns out sloppy and not well done.

Verbal Landscapes

Different ways nature impacts my life is by surfing. If nature didn't exist then I wouldn't be surfing. Because nature does exist I can surf and have fun doing it. Another way I Interact with nature is by taking photos, I think the best photos have nature in it. So if I'm taking a photo with my friend in it then I would have my friend Interacting with nature.

Time lapses and slow-Mo's can be created in 2 different ways. The first way to take time lapses and slow-Mo's is by doing it in the I phone. There are 2 settings in camera called time laps and slow-mo. when you choose time laps it takes the video until you stop it and then the I Phone speeds it up for you. The other setting In the camera app is slow-mo. When you finish taking the video it slows it down for you too. The second way to do it is by uploading the video to your editor for example Final Cut Pro and doing it yourself. In Final Cut Pro they have a re-time editor that you can use and then either click speed up of slow down. Then from there you can choose 50% slower or 100% faster.

The hardest part about this project is probably getting the film because during my time lapses I had to make sure that it was straight and that the footage wasn't shaking. This was hard because we also had to use environmental tripods. This way I could only use nature to get straight film. The easiest part of this project would probably be the editing. I think it is the easiest part because I've worked with Final Cut Pro already so I knew what I was doing.

I agree with my results with my video because I did good things but I also messed up on a few things. I think that the visuals were pretty goo and that I was able to capture a good sunset. But my audio wasn't very clear and that I messed up on a few words.The critique had 4 different votes on every ones video. 1 for beginning, 2 for developing, 3 for accomplished, and 4 for exemplary. Then at the end we voted for which video you thought was the best.

Poetic Personal Statement

I think that Poetry Is a form of literature that explains some one's feelings. I think this because most poems have a lot of emotion that they explain. In poetry for example If someone Is feeling sad then their poems would be about why their sad and what It feels like. I also think It means what people did in the past or what people plan to do In the future. I think this because poetry explains adventures people go on and the lessons they learn Into a story, also what they want to do In the future or what they imagine being somewhere like mount Everest or being in space.

The court Is where I play my favorite sport. Through sweat and struggle I think to myself, get that ball even If you have to fall. I dive for the ball as If Its game point  And Ill spike the ball until my hand Is red. Ill play until I get to the top, Its my goal, and Its my future. Ill try my best to get the ball Ill give 200% and I wont stop till I win. Its natural when I throw It In the air and prepare to spike It. Its a routine In my head bump, set, spike, It repeats, bump, set, spike.

I used rhyming because I think that when poems rhyme It feels more clever and put together.  I also used rhyming because I want to Incorporate both poem usage and rhyming In my poem to make It slightly more complex. I was able to use rhyming by searching up Rhymezone. Rhymezone helps you get words that rhyme with the word you typed In the bar.  I also found right places to put rhymes, usually I start a word around the beginning of the line and end the rhyme on the last word.

The storyline Is about 4 friends Akasha, Malia, Cody, and Seline. Then Malia and Cody get into a fight because Cody breaks Malia's boogie board and Malia gets mad. Then Akasha and Seline help by making them friends again. I think this storyline relates to our lyrics because In the song " Sorry" It explains that someone messed up and they're apologizing for it and that's basically the main idea of our story line. Our storyline relates to the lyrics also because we match the lyrics to the most similar thing we can think of on our story line so it makes It look more and more realistic. 

My favorite fast edit montage sequence is when we would switch back to lyric and storyboard in the beginning. It is my favorite because it shows a balance between the two sides: storyboard and lip sync. Also because the lip sync is right on time which makes the music video overall look well put together. My last reason why this is my favorite because it goes by fast with no transitions which makes it look more professional like it was a real music video.


This music video showcases our best work because out teams photo shop title we plan to include kurnning which was what we leaned in the beginning of the school year. We also are editing in i movie which can show off our skills that we learn ed from our comedic monologue, our invention, and other video projects that we did. Lastly this music video showcases our use of cameras. This showcases our work because we show that we learn ed how to make focused composed shots that can include maybe a high angle or a medium shot.

Animated Life Lessons

My teammates personal character traits are happy for Wailana, shy and funny for Micah, and creative for Kiana. I will exaggerate Wailana's character traits by having her be really perky and happy all the time. And for Micah's we are going to make him really shy and really funny at the talent show. And for kianas traits were going to make her magical and she will end up giving me and wailana the wish of becoming creative. 

We used humor in our story by making Micah yell when we were practicing for him to speak in public. Also when he performs at the talent show as a comedian, he's gonna say really funny jokes. Our message relates to people because have a shy side or a want to be creative. This film shows that people can over come shyness and become creative in any way. 

Our team's level of productivity with our team that ive never worked with was on and off. At some times out team was really good at time management, but sometimes we are not good at time management. Our biggest challange was getting the scences done in time becasue some of us were having a good time with our animating while other team mates were struggling with finishing thier scenes. I think our best moment during production was eaither when we were coming up with the story or when we finnaly finished the assignment. These were the best moments during production because it was fun making our own story and reliving when we finaly finished the assignment.

Character Development

I think I am an athletic person because I'm active and I play a lot of sports. I think this makes me athletic because I play volley ball, I swim, I surf, and I paddle when I can. Also, during the summer I do a program called Jr.Lifeguard where you train for a week. During Jr.Lifeguard you do running across the beach, swimming, and many body workouts. I also do a volley ball camp for a week during the summer with pro volleyball players who help you train and play better. This is why I think that I am an athletic person.I think that I'm relate able because I'm daring and adventurous.

I plant to exaggerate the traits of being daring and adventurous. I could do this by doing crazy things. I would exaggerate by doing something that no one else would do. I would also go to different places all the time. I would go to places that could be dangerous or exiting. And I would do interesting and unusual things.

The step by step process of creating my GIF character is first taking the picture.Then you cut it out in photo shop open the animation tool bar and puppet warp. That is when you get to create the movement of the figure your using. I like this process because you get to be creative in what your doing. You get to animate and make your own GIF using your own creativity or what you want to do.

My keywords connect with my audience because it can relate to a key word in their life.  They might like the film better because they can relate to it more. The key words can give different emotions to the audience. They can have different emotions to the words based on their memories with that word. I think that if the keywords in the movie are inspirational, so i think that the audience would like to watch an inspirational movie instead of another type of movie trailer.

My overall message of this film is not to give up. The message in this film also says that you can always depend on a friend to help you through everything. This film is to make people know that with confidence and help from a friend you can face your fears and tackle them down. I think that this message is also about not giving up if you don't succeed once. I think that to succeed you have to try again and again until you make it.

I think that the biggest team challenge that I faced was probably getting our filming done. I think that this was the hardest challenge because we had to arrange a time to film and how long were going to be there. It was also difficult to get the under water shots with our Go pro, because It had no floater so we had to be very careful not to drop it. Also our filming also takes place at a rodeo arena. We had to try and find a time for it to be open and, have to be able to have access to the horses.

Tiny Spherical Worlds

The point of more than one images that it has to be a panorama the only way you create a panorama on the computer is stitching photos together. You have to over lap the photos though.If you don't over lap the photos photo merge wont be able to stitch them together. If you only take one photo, then it wont be able to make it into a world and it wont turn out right. If you do more than one image it can turn into a more realistic planet. This is because the images can be stitched to to each other and turned into a circle which will look like every space has another section of the location.

The difference between polar a spherical photos is that when you make your polar you don't have to turn it at an 180 degree angle. So that means for your pano you have to turn your photo at a 180 degree angle. When the photos come out your pano looks like you have your own world. But your spherical looks like your trapped in a world. 

What makes the finished tiny worlds convincing is the back round. When you make it you out line a circle for the world. For the polar you make the back round black so it gives the effect of a world in space. And for the spherical you make the back round white so you can see the circular shape better. And in the final 2 pano's and spherical's your person usually has a shadow. So when it turns out you person looks more realistic because it has a shadow.

2016 Aspirations

The 5 different goals that I will attain in 2016, are : to get better grades, surf more, skate board more often, practice volley ball more often, and start swimming again. I want to get better grades because It'll help me later on in school. I want to surf more because I love doing It and I want to do It as a profession. I want to skate board more because its easy and It helps me surf with the balance factor. I want to practice volleyball more because I also want to do It as a profession. Last.. I want to swim more often because It makes me stronger and faster in the ocean If I practice on a swim team.

Skate boarding is the most important goal to me because its just fun to do and it helps me with balance in surfing. I also want to skateboard more because Its an easy way for transportation and other stuff. Skateboarding Is my most important goal also because I want to do It as a living when I get older. And I think that Its really fun to do all the time.

The steps I will take to ensure success Is to practice more often and try doing tricks and more hills. Ill also get a board for riding and another board for doing tricks. I will mostly skate board as much as I can and try new thing to get better at It. And i will try to get pointers from other skate boarders. Then I will improve on them as much as I can.

hockey Style Joiners

The difference of my photo montages and David Hockney's are that his are both real life photos or sketched photos. His photos are also more abstracted unique when he puts them together.Most of his photos also don't have the borders on each photo but the ones i have do.

I think that images can send positive or negative messages because the images can bring either dark or bright memories. Or the picture can be dark colors and they could show negative messages. The photo can also have bright colors and give the feel of something positive and give a positive message. It depends on the persons visual on the image whether it brings good or bad memories. Or the image can show a positive or negative message in the picture.

The message that i intend my readers to see is that to go out and explore. I took photos of he car because it takes you out into the world. I think this because the best way to live life is to go out there and move on from where you were before. I think that life is about the journey not the destination.
